Rhodesian Redback
The rhodesian redback, or rhodesian ridgeback breeder will sometimes have puppies that are only pet quality along with the show quality pups.
This breed has a strong protective instinct and is widely used as guardians. Such dogs bark only when it is necessary and there is no need to encourage them to protect their and their master's property. These dogs are affectionate with the master, but aloof with strangers.

Ownership of this breed can be a challenge for a novice, as such dogs are very independent and require much training to become socialized and make faithful home pets. Obedience training is recommended starting at the age of 8 weeks.
