Name Rhodesian Ridgeback
The name rhodesian ridgeback, is not common among rescues, but a kennel may be familiar with the breed.
These dogs were originally called the South African Lion Hounds, for the ability to hunt large animals. Also these dogs had to guard and herd cattle and protect people from wild beasts. Now this breed makes excellent companions and show dogs.

Name Rhodesian Ridgeback -

The breed is so called because of the ridge on the back formed by the hair growing in the opposite direction. It should contain two identical crowns beginning behind the shoulders and continuing to the prominence of the hips. Ridgelessness is a disqualification. The name rhodesian ridgeback, is not common among rescues, but a kennel may be familiar with the breed.
